what is causing my radiator to clog?

I have a 2005 Monte Carlo and i had a problem with my hot coolant light coming on so I took it to the shop and they flushed out my radiator… the car is driving fine now but I am seeing dat the temperature gage is starting to come up again but the light hasn't come on yet but I know that eventually it will cause that's what happen the last time…. can anyone tell me what's causing this what can I do to prevent this from happening again
